Tricia: Welcome, Casey. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Casey: My name is Casey Keen and I was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in the suburban outskirts of this amazing city. I love anything paranormal and/or supernatural – seriously I live in Philadelphia! For those of you who don’t know, this city is an awesomely haunted place! This healthy paranormal addiction has provided me the motivation to write my first book, “I’ll Be Damned.”
I graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and I’m currently working on the continuation of the Anna Wolfe Series.
Tricia: How long have you been writing?
Casey: Two years!
Tricia: Describe your writing process. Do you plot or write by the seat of your pants? When and where do you write?
Casey: I do a little of both. I plot, but then the ideas, characters and climaxes come and go throughout – one idea breeds another! I prefer to write in the early morning or late at night when the world is asleep.
Tricia: Can you tell us about your most recent release?
Casey: I’ll Be Damned is my first novel. It’s about a woman who has no idea she has supernatural powers. Events happen in her life she can’t explain and as the plot unfolds, she begins to understand the connection between her and magic (also, two hot supernatural men assist her)!
Tricia: How did you get the idea for the book?
Casey: It started out with location. I love Savannah, GA so that was the setting and since I always wanted to own my own coffee shop, Deja Brew came to life. After that, the plot and ideas started flowing in!
Tricia: I love Savannah too! Of all your characters, which one is your favorite? Why?
Casey: My favorite character in I’ll Be Damned is Martello. He is fabulous, straight-forward, and humorously witty. Plus, he’s named after a castle… how cool is that?!
Tricia: What projects are you currently working on?
Casey: I am currently working on the second novel in the Anna Wolfe Series!
Tricia: What advice would you offer to new or aspiring authors?
Casey: Aspiring Writers: Take a chance! If you want to write… sit down and do it! Don’t let your fear or other people’s criticisms hold you back. It’s one of the most amazing accomplishments in the world!
Tricia: Thanks so much for joining us today, Casey!
