Today’s guest is Sharnel Williams, author of several books including “What Do A Mother Do: The Shakil Williams Story.” She’s here to speak with us about her latest release, “I’m Black, He’s White.”
Welcome, Sharnel. Thanks for visiting with us today. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
When did you begin writing?
Back in 2005, after the passing of my son.
Can you tell us about your most recent release?
How did you get the idea for the book?
I wanted to try something different. I have out 2 non-fiction books already. Plus, where I live it’s a lot of interracial couples. No, I never have been in an interracial relationship.
I would recommend my first book. “What Do A Mother Do? The Shakil Williams Story” This book came from my heart. This is based on my son battling leukemia.
Of all your characters, which one is your favorite? Why?
My book, “I’m Black, He’s White” my favorite is Jackie. She reminds me of me.
What was the most challenging aspect of writing your book?
WOW! The love scene.
What is your primary goal as an author?
What projects are you currently working on?
I’m working on anthology with another author. Which I hope will be out by Christmas. I’m working on part 2 to “I’m Black, He’s White”.
What advice would you offer to new or aspiring authors?
Follow your Dream; don’t let anyone say you can’t do it.
