Author: Glorie Townson
Tell us a little about yourself.
Well, my name is Glorie Townson, but I’m basically an alternate personality for author, Toi Thomas. We are much the same, but where we differ makes a difference. While she’s all things geek, I love tea cups, Betty Boop, and musicals.
Coffee, tea, other or why?
Well, I can see you’ve read the book. For me, it’s tea all the way. Green tea first, an assortment of herbal teas, and then black and oolong. But if you happen to have a bold Earl Grey with some Irish crème, I’ll take it any day.
What is your greatest reading pet peeve?
If you’re speaking of things I personally don’t like in writing, I’ll keep that to myself, since it’s personal. Outside of that, I reach the edge of homicide when someone tries to make small talk while I’m reading.
What do you like most about writing?
I like the idea of creating something and since I’m not a painter or musician, words on the page or screen are my tools and canvas.
What do you like least about writing?
The technical stuff like style and grammar. These are skills that need to be developed and improved constantly when pursuing publication. While this is very important, it’s not really fun.
Do you have a signature look, article of clothing, or accessory that you like to wear when promoting your work?
Not yet, but I’m working on it. Toi wears an angel wing necklace when promoting her Eternal Curse Series. I’m still looking for my signature piece.
How did you feel when It’s Like the Full Moon was completed?
I was very excited and also nervous. This is the first time I’ve able to express myself in writing. Toi’s all speculative fiction, but this contemporary romance is something new and exciting. I hope someone out there likes it.
Any advice for aspiring writers?
Oh yes. Write whenever you can. Hone your skill and don’t be afraid to try new things. Most of all, write because you love to write.
